First Steps – Beginning The Disciple’s Journey

First Steps – Beginning The Disciple’s Journey

The first steps for a new Believer/Christian as you are beginning the Disciple’s Journey

You have just made the most important decision of your life, and we are celebrating with you! By accepting Jesus into your life, you have taken the initial step of what will be a remarkable journey. The Bible calls this journey a race. By accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have just begun an amazing race with eternity at the finish line.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

– Hebrews 12:1-2

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

– 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Because we want you to be successful in your Christian race, First Steps has been designed to help you process the journey of moving from believer to disciple. In First Steps, you will gain a basic understanding of how the world got to where it is today, how Jesus restores what is broken, and how God wants to use you to assist Him in this process. Rest assured, as you begin to understand and follow Jesus, He will change you in the process. Bottom line, First Steps will challenge you to grow in your passion for Jesus and His mission to save a broken world.
