PASSOVER MEAL: SEDER DINNER

  • Maror (bitter herbs): bitterness of slavery
  • Charoset (nuts, apples, cinnamon, wine): mortar and brick used to make bricks for Egypt
  • Karpas (green leafy vegetables dipped in salt water): tears and pain of slavery
  • Zeroah (lamb shank bone): sacrificial lamb
  • Beitzah (roasted egg): mourning

1st cup (sanctification):”I will bring you out…”

2nd cup (deliverance):”I will save you…”

3rd cup (redemption):”I will redeem you…”

4th cup (blessing): “I will take you…”

5th cup: or wrath, or for Elijah

THE LAST SUPPER: COMMUNION*

Matthew 26:26-29 26Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said,”Take, eat; this is my body.” 27And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying,”Drink of it, all of you, 28for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”[See also 1 Corinthians 11:23-32]

HUNGRY AND THIRSTY(PSALM 34:8)

John 6:35 Jesus said to them,”I AM the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. [See also John 6:53-58]

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

COMMUNION WITH GOD
