One: Faith
Review
● Why this series?
● Gods desire is for us to be a part of the church
1 Corinthians 1:10 (NIV) I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you
agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united
in mind and thought.
Our textfor the series:
Ephesians 4:1–6 (NIV) As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have
received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to
keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to
one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and
through all and in all.
The chain of custody
John 14:25–27 (NIV) “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the
Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I
leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and
do not be afraid.
The faith includes the Gospel and God’s standard of righteous living
2 Timothy 3:14–17 (NIV) But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of,
because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures,
which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God- breathed and is
useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Jude 3–4 (NIV) Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt
compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. For
certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are
ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only
Sovereign and Lord.
1 Timothy 4:16 (NIV) Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save
both yourself and your hearers.
Together –we are faithful to the Faith
Ephesians 2:19–22 (NIV) Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s
people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus
himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in
the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit
