Controversial

Speaking truth in love has never been an easy task, but having integrity and standing firm against the beliefs of the majority is a struggle many of us are having these days. Thankfully the Bible of 2021 is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow and we can stand firm knowing anything we encounter today is no surprise to God. Join us in this new sermon series as we take the unchanging Word of God in light of a rapidly disintegrating culture and address the challenge of adjusting the Bible, or adjusting our view of the world.

The truth and how we engage are Controversial.

The series will start with the Inerrancy of Scripture, which helps lead us into a weekend with Dr. Christopher Yuan on Sexual Identity.  We will also be talking about a variety of controversial topics such as Critical Race Theorymisogyny, gender rolesand poverty & entitlement. Listed below are some resources that may help you take a deeper dive into some of the topics we will be addressing in this important series:

On week two of the Controversial series we will be hosting professor, author, and speaker Dr. Christopher Yuan at our Post Falls Campus.

Dr. Yuan is the author several books including:
Out of a Far Country: A Gay Son’s Journey to God; A Broken Mother’s Search for Hope

and Holy Sexuality and the Gospel: Sex, Desire, and Relationships Shaped by God’s Grand Story.

He has found a way to communicate a biblical view of sexuality through the narrative of his own personal journey from an agnostic gay man to a born- again believer and professor at Moody Bible College.

Dr. Yuan has a message of redemption through Jesus and casts a vision of not embracing our sexuality, but embracing Christ, and shattering the social concepts of gay and straight by pointing toward Christ and what God says about holy sexuality.
